SENIOR DIRECTOR / DIRECTOR

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT & PROGRAM DELIVERY

Role Synopsis

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of RFF program development and operationalisation for the organization. This includes leading the management of technical and administrative function effectively, providing guidance and support to staff on instrument matters.

 

Key Responsibilities & Result Area

(a)    Lead the development of the strategic direction, planning, decision-making, and overall performance of the Program Management and Delivery Division.

(b)   Oversee, develop, and recommend to the Chief Executive Officer the strategic direction for the development and operationalization of the REDD Plus Finance Framework Instrument. Ensure coherence of these programs with National policies, emerging trends, and national and international development.

(c)   Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, state agencies, private sectors, foreign dignitaries, and community leaders.

(d)   Oversee the day-to-day operation of the RFF instrument, providing leadership in both technical and administrative functions of the Division.

(e)   Ensure timely reporting of performance and program delivery status and progress to the Chief Executive Officer, ministries, agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.

(f)   Manage and coordinate the RFF Advisory Committee (RFFAC), including scheduling meetings and functions, preparing agendas, minutes, project master lists, and summary sheets.

(g)   Plan, manage, and implement strategic and tactical action plans by participating in and/or leading business and organizational unit-wide projects to meet the business and strategic needs of the business unit and organizational objectives.

(h)   Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Must Haves:

(a)   Experienced with protocols & standards, accreditation, verification, quantification of carbon credit and carbon offset, compliance, monitoring, and sustainability reporting. In-depth experience in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is desirable.

(b)   Demonstrate extensive knowledge in practices, law and regulations in the forestry sector. Demonstrate in depth understanding on forestry and climate financing, REDD Plus Financing Framework, United Nations Framework of Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines for National GHG Inventories, carbon pricing and carbon market mechanism and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM);

(c)   Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge in building and implementing frameworks and in-depth understanding of best practices in carbon markets;

(d)   Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and identify new opportunities to advance an organization’s mission and brand

(e)   Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and projects and work with people at all levels of the organization, and ability to build synergies with state and federal agencies

(f)   Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills

(g)   Experience with data systems and/or relational database is desirable.
